Re: We bid £8.5m for Gomis from Swansea because
West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has been speaking to the media this morning and had a couple of things to say regarding transfers.

Asked about potentially signing Darren Fletcher from Manchester United, he said: 'It is still a possibility. The move isn't dead yet but we'll see."

He also rubbished reports linking the Hammers with Swansea striker Bafetimbi Gomis but refused to comment on speculation linking them with Burnley's Danny Ings.

I reckon this time last year people would have thought we were too good for a French second division striker and some chump from the Mexican league too.

Then what was the point in referencing his performance a few weeks back with that being taken & said in the context of the debate as a negative reaction to a possibility of him joining?

"What I am talking about is the reaction to Gomis. Are we too good for him all of a sudden? "

Based on his age, reported fee , Swansea sub up untill recently & lack of game time , average to poor goal scoring record, what we have in comparison - yes, it would be a poor signing, or as you spun it we're too good for him.

Saying he destroyed us a few weeks back as some kind of counter argurement/point & that it would somehow be ok is totally daft based on the obvious point that FMOB has had to make twice.

But we're not in for Jon Stead and I haven't said we should sign a player based on 1 performance.

Re: We bid £8.5m for Gomis from Swansea because
Stead is 10x better than Carlton Cole. And yet Cole has managed to ponce a living as a championship / premiership striker for years. It's a tough old world.

Re: We bid £8.5m for Gomis from Swansea because
I brought up Jon Stead as it is pointless to say how good a player is based on 1 performance.

That was pretty obvious though.

Some players need time to settle, he doesn't speak the lingo, I would give Enner at least a year. I've seen enough to think he might well develop into a top player. Don't like Gomis, reminds me of that Thundercats bird off The Undateables

If we sell Sakho or Valanica I will sit on the floor and shout "its not far"

Fucking Chelsea cunts.

Regarding this Gomis geezer not seen much off him to comment.

Re: We bid £8.5m for Gomis from Swansea because
my word, the things you read on here!!

so it's BFS's fault if we sold Sakho or Valencia?? nothing to do with the board??

in the cold light of day Enner has been hit & miss at best. nowhere near being world class.

I didn't say we should sign Gomis and I have no idea where Jon Stead has come from.

What I am talking about is the reaction to Gomis. Are we too good for him all of a sudden?

£8m for a 29 yr old who will no doubt be on massive wages - next...........

Jon Stead absolutely destroyed Chelsea last week, don't mean we should sign him.

I don't think he's shit by the way just think it would be a downgrade on Sakho or Valencia

Re: We bid £8.5m for Gomis from Swansea because
i cant se us selling either of them at the moment but if a stupidly high bid did come in it would have as much to do with sullivan wanting to trake a profit and reinvest the money in the team as sam i would think

HairySpotter 10:43 Thu Jan 29
Re: We bid £8.5m for Gomis from Swansea because
got to be bollox but IF, just say IF one of Sahko or Valencia went then BFS has to be sacked. Sahko is our best signing for years if not decades and Valencia has potential that somebody like Chelsea can see but Sam not.

Chelsea would probably play Enner in his favoured position and he will become world class. Sam just does not feel comfortable unless his spine of the team is a massive fuck off striker and Nolan running around like a cunt behind him.
